A new single-storey family home, built from the ground up on a sloping garden plot in Sundridge, Kent.
A new build house in Sundridge, near Sevenoaks, taken from groundworks through to a finished, weathertight home. The house sits low across its plot, with multi-tone red-brown facing brick, a pitched tiled roof and dark-framed glazing that opens the living spaces onto the garden. A stepped, brick-edged terrace and retaining walls shape the move between house and lawn, and young planting along the front elevation softens the building as it settles into its setting.
On a project like this, the quality is decided early: setting out, foundations and blockwork, then the brickwork, lintels and roof structure that follow. We managed each stage on site, sequencing the trades and keeping the programme honest week by week, so the standard of the work stayed steady from the first course of brick to the final finishes.
